Dana
Shriver joined the Mrs. NC United States Committee as the Marketing/Public Relations Director last year. Dana’s background
included competing in pageants since she was young, but after losing her fiancé in the line of duty, she stopped competing,
and decided to travel speaking about law enforcement deaths and safety. In addition to traveling the country and speaking
on behalf of law enforcement, Dana’s mother at the time was the Director of the Miss Florence Pageant in South Carolina,
and Dana took on the role of Scholarship Chairperson. During the four years she was on the Committee, the Miss Florence
Pageant won best local pageant numerous times, and held the award for top scholarships on a local level. During her first
year on the committee, Dana received the Crown Jewel Award by the Miss America Organization for her hard work with the pageant.
While
traveling the country speaking on behalf of fallen officers and their families, Dana had the honor of meeting President
Clinton, President George W. Bush, and Mr. Robert Mueller (Director of the FBI), to gain awareness of line of duty deaths,
and helping departments prepare for these senseless tragedies. Dana hopes more people will teach their children
at an early age how to respect those in law enforcement, and other jobs regarding emergency response personnel.
Dana’s
background in marketing includes working for the ABC television affiliate in Myrtle Beach, and Director of Public Relations
for ZMAX (a subsidiary of Speedway Motorsports). While working as the Director of Public Relations for a Fortune 500
Company, she met numerous people in television and radio. She was on John Boy and Billy numerous times, ESPN, Speed Channel,
and Performance Racing Network during every Speedway Motorsports Race. While traveling to Bristol, Texas, Infineon, Atlanta,
Las Vegas, and Lowe’s Motor Speedway, her relationships strengthened with those in media, and she hopes to use these
relationships to gain exposure for the Mrs. N.C United States Pageant.
Most
importantly, Dana is the wife to her amazing husband Paul Shriver, and mother to nine year old Jacob, and two year old
identical twin girls, Charleston Evan and Elizabeth Ellis. Since the birth of her twins, and with the support of her
husband, Dana opened an International Corporate Apparel Company, appropriately named Made In Multiples (www.madeinmultiples). Dana
and her husband work closely together running their Apparel Company and her husband’s Land Development Business.
Made In Multiples gives a portion of the profits made from the company back to organizations that support law enforcement.
Along
with being a wife, mother, and businesswoman, Dana also found time to start the Presbyterian NICU Support group for mothers
of multiple birth children at Presbyterian Hospital, and CPOMS (Carolinas Parents of Multiples) and online support group for
parents raising multiple birth children. Before starting CPOMS, Dana served as Vice President for CMOMs (Charlotte Mothers
of Multiples), the nation’s largest twin’s organization, and won the President’s Award for her dedication
to the organization.
Dana is extremely excited about being the Director
this year, and hopes all the ladies competing in the pageant realize they can call on her anytime.
